Mary Edna Mauck

Asheville - Mary Edna Mauck, 84, of 302 Virginia Avenue, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native of Haywood County, Mrs. Mauck had resided in Buncombe County since 1944. She retired from Square D Corp. in 1983 and was a charter member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Mauck was the daughter of the late Joseph Lawrence and Lizzie Russell Fisher, and the widow of Rev. Jesse Garland Mauck, who passed away in March, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Janet Mauck. Surviving are her daughter, Marie Mauck Morgan, of the home; son, Jesse David Mauck of Simpsonville, SC; four grandchildren: Jason Mauck of Asheville and Jonathan Mauck and wife, Tracy, Daniel Mauck, and Sarah Mauck all of Simpsonville; three great-grandchildren: Jessica, Tony and Sam Mauck; four sisters; Minnie Fish of Waynesville, Lura Fish of Morganton, Hazel Mathis of Clyde and Martha Benfield of Lenoir; three brothers: Daniel Fisher of Waynesville, Crawford Fisher of Nebo and Robert Fisher of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
