Asheville Lowell Wilton Sellstrom, 87, of 629 New Haw Creek Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at his home. A native of Chicago, IL, he had resided in Mattoon, IL until 1948 and in Bristol, TN until 1961 and then had resided in Asheville since October 1961. He retired from Singer Kearfott Company and following retirement, he was a Courier for Velocity Express. Mr. Sellstrom was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church, Ordained Deacon and was a member of Mensa International. Mr. Sellstrom was a son of the late Elmer Hilding Sellstrom and Ruth Catherine Anderson Sellstrom and husband for 62 years of Marjorie Jean Marge Strohl Sellstrom who died April 9, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Sellstrom and sister-in-law, JoAnn Strohl. Surviving are his twin sons, Steve H. Sellstrom and wife Susan of Greensboro and Stan R. Sellstrom and wife Teri of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Karin Sellstrom of Kingsport, TN and Erik Sellstrom and wife Ellen of Detroit, MI, Bill Daniel of Greensboro and Jeff Coffer and wife, Lee Ann of Las Vegas, NV; great grandsons, Noah, Aidan, Owen and Alex; great granddaughters, Makinley and Madison; sisters-in-law, Sue Sellstrom of Picayune, MS and Shirley Ann Oakley and husband Gene of Mattoon, IL; brother-in-law, Howard Strohl of Indianapolis, IN and special friends, Pat and Paul Wright of Black Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 8, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Dockery and Rev. Tom Lomax officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
