Asheville - Lee Kentwood Jones, 75, died Friday October 17, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Citizen Times after 30 years of service and was a former Deacon at Emma Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Carl and Bertha Lee McCrary Jones. Surviving are his wife, Frances Jones of the home; sons, Tim Jones and Darrin Jones both of Leicester; daughter, Teresa Corum of Asheville; sisters, Nancy McMinn of Hendersonville and Martha Lipe of Asheville; grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Charity Harvey, Adam Teague and Tiffany Jones and great grandchildren, Jade and Sydney Harvey. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Hooper officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
