Leah Mae "Lynn" Embler

Arden Leah Mae Lynn Embler, 63, of Arden, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Embler was the co-owner of Mountain View Restaurant, and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Thelma Sluder Adams, and was the wife of Sam Embler, who passed away in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Adams. Surviving are her daughters: Kelly McDevitt and husband Michael of Candler, and Stacy King and husband Jackie of Leicester; grandchildren: Brandie McDevitt, Stephen McDevitt, Dillion Rickman, Samuel King and Corie King; sister, Linda Hamer of Arden; half-brother, Paige Lancaster of Candler; and nephews: Scott and Brian Hamer. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. Sam McLamb, Rev. David Plemmons, and Mr. Jerry Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
