Kessie Bryson Reese

Asheville - Kessie Bryson Reese, 84, of 24 ODonald Road, went to be with the Lord, Monday, October 16, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Jackson County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She retired from West Buncombe Elementary School where she was employed in the cafeteria. She was of the Baptist Faith and following her retirement, she worked part time at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Day Care. Mrs. Reese was a daughter of the late Milt and Ella Mae Watson Bryson and the wife of Joe Branson Reese who died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ray Bryson formerly of Pisgah. Surviving are her son, Ronnie Reese and wife Pat of Asheville; grandchildren, Kevin Reese, Tonya Conley and Travis Reese all of Asheville; great grandchildren, Megan Bruce and Tosha Conley both of Asheville; sister, Faye Parker of Sylva and several nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Winebarger and Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
