Julia Rhymer Payne

Asheville Julia Rhymer Payne, 88, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Mrs. Payne was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church. She was a daughter of the late Carl Lee and Dora Turbyfill Rhymer and was married June 26, 1943 to Everette P. Payne who passed away February 14, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Carl Lee Rhymer, Jr. Surviving are her sons, Harry Lee Payne and wife Judy of Leicester, Larry Bruce Payne and wife Julie of Terlton, OK and Perry Eugene Payne of the home; sister, Ruth Hegler of Tampa, FL; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Lt. Col. Chaplain Herbert H. Spencer and Stella Spencer of Naples, FL; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hober officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
