Judy Ruth Barbara Walls

Asheville - Judy Ruth Barbara Freeman Walls, 67, of 56 Walnut Lane, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Ms. Walls was the daughter of the late Alvin Erie and Ada Norris Freeman, and was also preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Hyatt and Clora Silvers; and a brother, Tony Freeman. Surviving are her sons: Mark Gosnell of Woodfin, Brian Walls and wife Kimberly of Weaverville, and Chris Walls and wife Sherry of Asheville; sisters: Elizabeth McFalls of Tampa, FL and Nadine Cloer of Wimauma, FL; brothers: W.A. Freeman of Murphy and Johnny Freeman of Leicester; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Higgins-Russ Family Cemetery in Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
