Jessie "Pat" Head

Asheville Jessie Pat McIntosh Head, 89, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012. She was a former WAC Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mrs. Head was the daughter of the late James and Nancy Ledford McIntosh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe W. Head who died February 12, 2002; sisters, Grace, Joy and Hazel and brother, Cecil. Surviving are her daughter, Angie DeSantis and husband Hector of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Leo Smith and wife Nancy and Chrissy Wise and husband James; great grandchildren, Kyle, Angelica and Zane; brother, Jack McIntosh and aunt, Nell Fender. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow at 2 P.M. Monday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team and N.C. National Guard Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Leo Smith, James Wise, Kyle Smith, Zane Smith, Ken Weatherman and Jeff Whitley. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
