Jean Griggs

Weaverville Wilma Jean Ledford Griggs, 64, of Weaverville, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her home. A native of Franklin, Mrs. Griggs had resided in Buncombe County for the past 44 years. She was the former owner and operator of Little Lamb Daycare. Mrs. Griggs was the daughter of the late Skyler and Shirley Rowan Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Rev. Lewis Timothy Tim Griggs, who passed away September 3, 2014. Surviving are her daughters; Sherri Michelle Cassada and husband Jerry, and Rhonda Ann Griggs; grandchildren: Jessica, Alyssa, Lacie, Daniel, Michael, Desaree, Dawson, Tristan, Tanner and Bridget; great-grandchildren: Angel, Malakai, Bobby, Leo, and Blayze; brother, Furman Ledford and wife Emmalou; nephews: Kent and Kevin Ledford; and her beloved dog Yogi. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Phillip Emory officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:00 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
