Fairview - James Everette Willie Morris, 39, of 584 Blue Mountain Road went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 2, 2002 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Oxford County. He resided in Canton for several years prior to moving to Fairview in 1991. He was a son of Lodemia Hornbuckle Morris of Creedmore and the late Charles Franklin Morris. He was a 1982 graduate of Pisgah High School, member of Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Fairview and employed with the Haven Centers of Asheville where he served as Operations Director. He loved the youth in the community where he served in numerous sporting activities as a Leader, Coach, Referee and Umpire. He also coached the Carolina Crusaders. Willie was a devoted husband, father and a loyal and dependable friend. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife, Cynthia, four wonderful children, Jason, Kirby, Taylor and Jordyn; sisters, Melissa Lindsey, Molly Morris and Susie Morris; brothers, Timothy, Henry, Philip and Richard Morris. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor James Mason officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in the Bethel section of Haywood County. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte Hwy, Fairview, N.C. 28730 for Cindy and the children.
