Harvey Langford

Morristown, TN Harvey Douglas Langford, 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Lakeway Regional Hospital. A native and resident of Buncombe County, he moved to Morristown, TN in 1993. He retired in 2003 from Lindsey Fibers in Morristown, was formerly employed with BASF and Burlington Industries and was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church in Morristown. Mr. Langford was a son of the late Willard Jerome Langford and Fannie Rogers Langford and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Langford; son, Christopher Langford; sisters, Bernice Buckner and Ethel Buckner and brothers, Robert, Ray and Earl Langford. Surviving are his step daughter, Quantella VanDerVeer and husband Scott of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Christina Langford and Summer Langford both of Asheville and Connor Langford of SC; sister, Irene Buckner and husband Bobby of Asheville; sister-in-law, Ikie Langford of Woodfin; brothers, Frank Langford and wife, Elizabeth of Weaverville, Harold Langford and wife Shirley of Newton and Donald Langford and wife Altha of West Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Gayle Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
