ASHEVILLE - Harold J. Bud Elliott, 89, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2012; his family was by his side at the VA Hospital. A native of Berwick, PA, he was the son of the late Jack Elliott and Anna B. Dodd. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lena B. Elliott, a daughter Rebecca Elliott of West Palm Beach, FL; a son Jerry Elliott, wife Donna, of Spruce Pine, NC; a brother Pat Dodd of Berwick, PA; grandchildren: William Gabe Daniel, Kimberly Yoder, husband Alan, Todd Elliott and Anastasia Brown and fianc John Stella; great grandchildren: Tyler Elliott and Katya Daniel; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Elliott served in the US Army in 1943-46, in the 41st Infantry Division in Australia and New Guinea. At the end of his Army career he met and married his wife and settled in Asheville. As a printer for most of his life he and his wife owned and operated Alpine Press in Asheville for many years. Bud was a devoted, active member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church since 1954, working with the youth, bus ministry, and was a deacon. Family will be receiving friends at 2:00 p.m. at Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday, September 30, 2012. In celebration of his life, services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev.
