Gladys Mae King

Asheville - Gladys Mae Henson King, 82, of 42 Old County Home Road, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 at Magnolia Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native of Rutherford County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1948. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. Gladys was the daughter of the late William Horace and Lillie Ester Harrill Henson, and the widow of Denver King, who passed away September 4, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby McMahan and Helen Fitzpatrick, and brother, James Henson. Surviving are her son: Gary Joe King of Asheville; sister: Vera Pace of Asheville; and special friend, Vicie Testerman. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
