Mrs. Geneva K. Davis, 94, died gently in her sleep on Sunday November 11, 2007 at her home in Greensboro, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday November 15, 2007 at Anders Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Asheville. Born April 14, 1913 in Asheville, to the late Jacob and Cora Kuykendall, Mrs. Davis retired from Cameo Hosiery. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 60 years, where she taught Sunday School for nearly 50 years. In the later years of her life, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her cat Princess. In addition to her parents Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Davis. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ronald Davis and his wife Karen Starleaf of Corvallis, Oregon; daughter, Nancy Davis of Greensboro; dear friend, Julia Cookie Hamilton, who was like a daughter to her; brother, Norman Kuykendall of Asheville; and a number of extended family members. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007, at the funeral home.
