Gary Burris

Asheville - Gary Dean Burris, 49, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Cabarrus County, Gary had resided his whole life in Buncombe County. He was self-employed as a residential painter. He loved to ride his Harley-Davidson, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. Gary was the son of the late Jimmy Dean and Rose Lee Luther Burris. Surviving are his wife, Rhonda Porter Burris; children: Amanda Gail Burris Brown and husband Matthew, and Jimmy Dean Burris, II; grandchildren: Nevaeh Hollingsworth, Catherine Brown, and Jillian Brown; sisters: Linda Fisher and husband Doug, and Donna Simpson and husband Danny; brothers: Kevin Burris and wife Ronda, and Emery Burris and wife Leigh; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
