Weaverville Elizabeth West Greene, 92, passed peacefully from this life to her eternal one on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. She was a daughter of the late William Gordon West, Sr. and Elizabeth Young West and the widow of the late Cecil E. Greene to whom she was married for 47 years. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William, Charles and Howard West and a sister, Vivian Roberts. She attended Biltmore United Methodist Church for many years and later attended Asbury Memorial Methodist Church where she volunteered at the Pre-School, sang with the Asbury Singers and played with the Handbell Choir. She was a member of the ABWA, the VFW Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Martha Greene of Weaverville; two loving granddaughters, Meredith Greene of Asheville and Allison Greene of Weaverville; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Grady Taylor of Powder Springs, GA and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 22, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Michael McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. A reception will follow services Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 51 Wilburn Place, West Asheville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the John F.
