Edith Mears Wade

Weaverville Edith Elizabeth Mears Brown Wade, 81, of 78 Weaver Blvd and formerly of Rangeview Acres, Candler passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Brian Center of Weaverville. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired in 1991 from Square D for over 20 years and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Mrs. Wade was a daughter of the late James Mark Mears and Sarah Miller Mears and wife of the late Herman Bud Halbert Wade who died October 11, 2008. Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Sue Cothran & husband, George of Leicester; grandchildren, Tina Lusk & husband, Mark of Leicester and Thomas Cothran and wife, Amy of Candler; great-grandchildren, twins: Mackenzie & Miranda Lusk and Olivia Cothran; sister, Maude Jones of Hampton, VA; brother, Harry L. Mears & wife, Frances of Asheville and special friend, Ann Harris. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
