Ed Sherlin

Donald Edward Ed Sherlin, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he had retired from H&M Constructors in 2004, and formerly worked for Blue Ridge Trucking and Frederickson Motor Lines. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Sherlin was a son of the late Richard Sherlin and Illene Reed Sherlin Daniel. He was also preceded in death by daughters: Heather Michelle Sherlin and Kimberly Sharon Ruth Sherlin Green; twin sister, Deliah Sanders; sister, Patsy Cable Sawyer; and brother, Richard Reed Sherlin. Mr. Sherlin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lorraine Sherlin; granddaughter, Jessica West and husband Danny of Arden; son-in-law, Terry Green and wife Lesia of Fletcher; brother James Sherlin and wife Betty of Leicester; very special family friend, Millard Coffey of the home; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Green Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Jason Cox officiating.
