Ed Rice

Fletcher - Gordon Edward Ed Rice, 71, of 134 Williams Road went to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at StoneCreek Health and Rehabilitation. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired from Gerber following 34 years of service. Mr. Rice was a son of the late Carroll James and Mary Jenkins Rice. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Rice. Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Shetley of Weaverville; brothers, James Carlos Rice of Fletcher, Clyde Rice of Asheville and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
