Asheville David Baird Cheadle, 86, finally got his call to see Jesus on Thursday, March 27, 2014 when he passed away peacefully at his home. A native of Rockford, IL and was Owner and former Operator of Dave Cheadle Art & Sign Company for over 55 years. He was a member of Crossroads Assembly and was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. He was a son of the late Clarence McCormick Cheadle and Elsie Charlotte Sundgen Cheadle and was also preceded in death by a son, David B. Cheadle, Jr. and sister, Bette Joyce Fender. Surviving is the love of his life, Maryalice Kirker Cheadle; five sons, John Cheadle (Lori), Daniel Cheadle (Julie), Matthew Cheadle (Kimberly), Douglas Renaker and Dwayne Renaker (Gillian); daughter, Leslie Renaker Tritle (Scott); 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Cheadle (Ann) and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, March 31, 2014 at Crossroads Assembly with Rev. J. Michael Brown officiating, followed by burial at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors to be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at Crossroads Assembly, 20 South Bear Creek Road, Asheville.
