Cathern Robinson

Alexander - Cathern Meadows Robinson, 89, of Alexander died Wednesday, March 28, 2018. A life-long resident of Buncombe County, she was the 8th of 9 children born to Roy and Dessie Hagan Meadows. She was a graduate of French Broad High School, where she was salutatorian of her class. Employed initially at American Enka, she spent the remainder of her career at Square D Company until her retirement in 1991. She attended Freedom Baptist Church. She loved her family, loved the Lord and was a die-hard Tar Heel basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joe Robinson to whom she was married for 31 years. Also preceding her in death was her infant daughter Sandra Gail, an infant brother and sister, brother Charles 'Jabbo' Meadows (Evelyn), and sisters Robbie Austin (Sam), Dora Sluder (Frank), Pearl Parham (Chine), Lucille Haney (Denver), and Nell Haney (Everette). She is survived by her children Sharon Moore (Junior) of Alexander, Pat Walling (Jim) of Weaverville, Dennis Michael (Vicki) of Clover, SC, Doug (Lynne) of Salisbury and seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Hutchinson and Rev. Dean Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to express a heartfelt Thank You to Mandy Embler Pearson, as well as to the staff of the NTICU unit at Mission Hospital, for the love and care Mrs. Robinson received.
