Carolyn Tweed Cline, 76, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Edward Lawrence Tweed and Mary Capps Tweed. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Blackwell, and a brother, Michael Tweed. Carolyn was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital as an RN and then worked for many years at the Buncombe County Correctional Facility as an RN. Surviving are her husband, Charles Lewis Cline of the home; step-children: Gary Powers of Sevierville, TN, Teresa Burkhead and husband John of Riverside, OH, Lisa Cline of Fairborn, OH, and Bobbie Mitchell of Asheville; sisters: Nina Honeycutt and husband Mace of Asheville, Joyce Reep and husband Ron of Forest City, and Geraldine Nicholson and husband Danny of Asheville; brother, Kenneth Tweed of Houston, TX; aunt, Viola Hooker of Concord; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, August 6, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Carson Moseley and Rev. Van Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
