Carlotta Harwood

Candler Virginia Carlotta West Harwood, 69, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Harwood had worked in several real estate and insurance offices as a secretary. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and liked working in crafts and reading. She loved being the merchandiser for Whitewater Bluegrass Company. Mrs. Harwood was the daughter of the late Carl West and Lois Vehaun Israel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bob Harwood; son, Scott Harwood; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters: Robin Evans and husband Jeff, and Carla Rickman; daughter-in-law, Dixie Harwood; sister, Louise Blackwell; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday at Edgewood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 3:30 PM Wednesday at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Harwoods family.
