Carl Ray Bowers, Jr.

Asheville - Carl Ray Bowers, Jr., 49, of 128 Hudson St. passed away Thursday at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of Carl Ray and Emma Lucille Bowers of Asheville. Surviving in addition to his parents are his daughters, Amanda Penley of Leicester and Emily Bowers of Hendersonville; 2 sisters, Sharon Buckner and Sue Surrett; 3 grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the residence.
