Bruce Ray

Swannanoa Robert Bruce Ray, 92, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Asheville Health Care Center. A native of Yancey County and resident of Buncombe County most of his life, he retired from Beacon Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Ray was the son of the late John Bynum Ray and Lou Emma McMahan Ray. Surviving are his wife, Lena Martha Hensley Ray with whom he married March 27, 1943; daughter, Firby Price and husband Bruce of Asheville; son, David Ray and wife, Gail of Swannanoa; grandchildren; Todd Price (Arlene) of Sevierville, TN, Angela Anders (Wendle) of Morganton and Steven Wolfe of Asheville and great grandchildren, Austin Whitley, Courtney Whitney, Hannah Anders and Matthew Anders. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Sky View Memorial Park with the Rev's Ken Sausedo and Davis Plemmons officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Asheville Health Care for their love and support. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Resident's Council of the Asheville Health Care Center, 1984 US Hwy 70, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
