Betty Tipton

Arden Elizabeth Marie Betty Bertossa Tipton, 90, of 390 Sycamore Drive, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home. A native of Detroit, MI, she had resided in St. Petersburg, FL from 1939 to 1969, moving to Buncombe County in 1969. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Women of Rotary and League Bowling in St. Petersburg, FL. Surviving are her son, David Glenn Tipton and wife, Diann of Taylors, SC; daughter, Kathleen Marie Tipton Stetson and husband Robert M. of Wolf Laurel; grandchildren, Robert M. Stetson, Jr., Anne Marie Schruckmayr, David Michael Tipton, Devin Glenn Tipton; great grandchildren, Robert Cole Stetson, Zoe Elizabeth Schruckmayr and Michael Schruckmayr and sister-in-law, Jeanne Tipton. Mrs. Tipton was the daughter of the late Harry Alexander Bertossa and Marie Valentina Bradley Bertossa and wife of Walter Glenn Tipton who died December 27, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Jeanne Stetson and brother, Harry David Bertossa. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following services at the cemetery.
