Arthur Ray Graham

Asheville - Arthur Ray Graham, 67, of 49 Ben Lippen Road died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Advance, MO, he grew up in Cape Girardeau, Mo and had resided in Jacksonville, FL for many years prior to moving to Asheville in February of 2004. He retired in 1976 following 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy and in 1998 following 22 years of service at the Naval Air Station in Mayport, FL. He was the son of the late Lawrence Edgar Graham and Anna Caroline Leazenby Graham and was also preceded in death by grandson, Jeremy Ford formerly of St. Augustine, FL, sister, Anna Marie Pender formerly of N. Fort Meyers, FL and infant brother, Buddy. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Graham of the home, children, Christine Anne Hill of Eddyville, KY, Lori Reed of Longlois, Ontario Canada, Scott Reed of St. Augustine, Fl and Stephen Reed of Orange Park, FL; 8 grandchildren and sister, Donna Brault of Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Enoch G. Ball, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
