Arlene B. Jenkins

Fairview Arlene Eunice Brott Jenkins, 83, of 941 Old Fort Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Willoughby, OH, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life and retired following 21 years of service with Maiers Greenhouse. She was a long standing member of the Fairview Fire Department Auxiliary, was active in the Spring Mountain Community Center, was a former 4-H Leader and a member of Spring Mountain Baptist Church where she was a former Childrens Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Jenkins was a daughter of the late Murl Brott, Sr. and Alice Strang Brott and was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Minnie Lee Brott; brother, Murl Bud Brott, Jr. and great grandson, Luke Poston Adams. Surviving are her husband whom she married November 7, 1960, Ray Poston Jenkins of the home; stepson, Donald H. Jenkins and wife Kay and stepdaughter, Linda Penland and husband James all of Fairview; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Jane Caldwell of Asheville; brother, David Brott and wife Dorothy of Mars Hill and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Roberts and Rev. Todd Royal officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the John F.
