Annis Gardner Demos

Asheville - Annis Gardner Demos, 88, of The Oaks at Sweeten Creek, died Monday January 6, 2003. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Asheville and a former member of the Asheville Country Club. She was a daughter of the late James Jackson and Laura Marie McMahan Gardner and wife of Simon Demetri Demos who died in June 1992. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gardner. Surviving are her sons, George Simon Demos and wife, Linda and Michael Simon Demos and wife, Jill all of Asheville; grandsons, Demetri George Demos, Dustin Coman Demos and Nicholas Patton Demos; granddaughters, Annis Christine Demos and Allison Marie Demos; great grandchildren, Justin Demetri Demos, Amber Marie Demos and Tyler Joe Demos; sister, Breida Gardner Thomas of Asheville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynda Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park.
