Annis Gardner Demos

Asheville - Annis Gardner Demos, 88, of The Oaks at Sweeten Creek, died Monday January 6, 2003. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Asheville and a former member of the Asheville Country Club. She was a daughter of the late James Jackson and Laura Marie McMahan Gardner and wife of Simon Demetri Demos who died in June 1992. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gardner. Surviving are her sons, George Simon Demos and wife, Linda and Michael Simon Demos and wife, Jill all of Asheville; grandsons, Demetri George Demos, Dustin Coman Demos and Nicholas Patton Demos; granddaughters, Annis Christine Demos and Allison Marie Demos; great grandchildren, Justin Demetri Demos, Amber Marie Demos and Tyler Joe Demos; sister, Breida Gardner Thomas of Asheville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynda Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minuites prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 40 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
