Charlotte, NC - Adrian Reid Woolley, 73, formerly of Asheville died Friday, November 3, 2006 at his residence with family and friends by his side. Mr. Woolley was born in Wilton, Alabama and was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Adrian Reid Woolley Sr. (Nell Pauline) He was preceded in death by his grandson Andrew Reid Blackwelder. He was a Korean Veteran and owner of Adrian Woolley Plumbing Company until 1997 when he retired. Adrian was active as a member of Newbridge Baptist Church in Asheville. He served as a member of Woodfin Lions Club. After relocating to Charlotte he was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for 40 years, serving in many roles such as a deacon, a member on the stewardship committee, and the property committee. He loved his family, church and friends. He enjoyed bowling, sports and his work. He left behind his devoted wife Argylle Runion Woolley, after 51 years of marriage; daughter, Lori Santon of Charlotte and son, Alan Woolley of Stanley; Sisters, Hazel Barker (Cecil)of Asheville and Annette Gallimore (Calvin) of Arvonia, VA. His grandchildren are Christan Hope Millwood, Charles Adrian Woolley, Jordan Reid Woolley and Elijah David Therrien. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 6 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville. Memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday, November 7 at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Charlotte with Family receiving friends after the service. The Revs Earl Pennell and William A. Wallace will be officiating both services Memorials may be made to Beth Anderson Family Center, Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804 or Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4622 Nations Crossing, Charlotte, NC 28210. Anders-Rice Funeral Home of Asheville is serving the family.
