ASHEVILLE – Pauline Sparks Johnson, 93, of 148 Arthur Road passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at her home.
A native of McDowell County, she had lived most of her adult life in Boone and Asheville.
Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Harrington Sparks and Nellie Blalock Sparks and wife of the late William James Johnson.
Surviving are her daughters, Syble Allen of Asheville and Linda Noe & husband Norman of Morganton; sons, Reecel E. Johnson & wife Mereleen, Robert H. Johnson & wife Shirley and Billy J. Johnson all of Asheville; sisters, Mildred Ornberg and Helen Rowland both of Marion; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and her caregiver for the past 13 years, Faye Davis of Asheville.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2 to 7 P.M. Saturday at her residence.
