WAYNESVILLE – Wilsie Cecil Hoyle Sutton, 98, of 117 Virginia Ave. went to be with her Lord Thursday, November 5, 2009.
A native and resident most of her life of Haywood County, Mrs. Sutton was the oldest living member of Hazelwood Baptist Church where she formerly sung in the choir.
She was a daughter of the late Jules Baxter and Cindy Curry Hoyle. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janice “Mitze” Gill and her husband, Charles; son, Farrell Sutton; son-in-law, Richard Paul “Dick” DeLaria; brothers, Tom and Julius Hoyle and sister, Wilma Lucas.
Surviving are her daughter, Wilma S. DeLaria of Waynesville; son, Michael Hoyle Sutton and wife, Brenda of Waynesville; daughter in law, Mildred Sutton of Newport News, VA; 4 grandchildren, Barry Sutton, Brandi Stephenson and husband, Matt, Darrell Sutton and wife, Cathy and Camela DeLaria Klein and husband, Jason; 4 great grandchildren, Cody, Kara, Kelsey and Holly and 1 great great granddaughter, Sierra; 2 nephews, Stan Lucas (Pat) and Richard Hoyle (Ellen).
Graveside services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville with the Rev. Tim Lolley officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following services at the cemetery.
