Dr. Runion was my friend for twenty-five years. He gave me an honorary doctorate and taught me how to cross reference my King James Bible while we were sitting under a mosquito net in Kenya, East Africa. I will miss not being able to get his wise advise.

Dr. Runion had a huge impact in my Christian life. I met him about 7 years or so ago and we became friends and had many lunches together where we would have bible study. The things he taught me will never be forgotten and I am eternally grateful for our friendship. I am especially thankful for his insight into prophecy, the end times and the book of Revelation. He will be sorely missed but I WILL see him again.
God bless the family.

Our prayers go out to The Runion Family. Preacher Runion will be greatly missed down here but we know we will see Him soon. A few years ago I asked Him to preach at the Marion little prison. The Manor family sang that night. He preached on "Three Men on The Cross" At the invitation a young man came forward and accepted Christ. Later that night another inmate went over the fence and escaped. He said One got in and one got out. LOL
Sister Joyce and Family, if we can ever be of help to you we are here for you all. God Bless and help you is our prayer.

Sis Joyce and family,
We were saddened to hear about the passing of our dear Bro Wendell. He left a lasting impression on all of our family. He loved our Lord and worked diligently for Him! He never strayed fro the KJV 1611 and putting the Word of God out to all. Not many men achieve their personal goals in the ministry as he did! He is greatly missed.
May the Lord comfort each of you with peace and contentment knowing Bro Wendell has reached his final destination and is awaiting your arrival.
Sending you our heartfelt love and prayers.

Dr. Runion's family has my deepest condolences. The loss of such a great man, though we know he is home in Heaven, will leave their days dreary & nights long. I will keep you all in my prayers, for comfort & peace.
We so enjoyed getting to hear & see the Runions over the years here at Northwest Bible Baptist in Elgin, IL
Dr. Gomez enjoyed teasing Dr. Runion about being an absent member of Northwest. It was so good to hear how they recently spent some great time together. Dr. Gomez recounted how they "Hooted & Hollered" over past experiences. He will surely miss the close friendship of Bro. Wendell.
We are thankful for the live stream of the memorial service so that we can feel a part of Dr. Runion's homegoing.
Love & prayers, the Regniers

A man who is counted amongst the pillars of faith, a man of courage and leadership; never leaning to the left nor the right of the path of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. For this we are grateful to the Lord for the Christian legacy Bro. Runion leaves for us to pick up and carry on. He would certainly bid us to continue with the mission of proclaiming the good news to all would have ears to hear and eyes to see; who seek light in a dark world.

In concert with the Apostle Paul, Bro. Runion may well exclaim 2 Timothy 4:7-8:

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
To Mrs. Joyce and the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all! I will miss Dr. Runion greatly, especially the next time I go up to WKJV for a Share-A-Thon. He was an inspiration to me and an Encourager of the Faith! He was always so gracious; and I will always be greatful for him allowing me to come to have a small part in the ministry WKJV.
He was a dear friend and mentor! No doubt, he touched many lives world-wide through the ministry of IBOM.
May God's comfort and peace sustain his dear family and the families/staff of IBOM and the radio stations.
"Well done thou good and faithful servant"
Look forward to seeing you, my brother, at that great reunion day!

Dear Runion Family, I am so sorry to hear of Bro. Runion's passing. He will be deeply missed. It is such a comfort to know he is in Heaven where he will have no more health problems. He has now received his ultimate healing. I thank God for Bro. Runion's faithfulness and ministry. He was a light to a lost world.

When my son was in 1st grade at Temple School, Mrs. West's class went to the radio station and we all had such a good time visiting and talking with Bro. Runion. I took several pictures that day and I treasure them. That was around 18 years ago. It was always special to see and talk with Bro. Runion. I loved listening to WKJV because I knew it was "safe". I knew Wendell Runion wouldn't allow any foolishness or false doctrine to be aired. I appreciated and learned so much when he taught about the 1611 KJV Bible. I've never used another version as preached by Dr. Raloh Sexton, Sr., but I learned many reasons for that also by listening to Bro. Runion.

I remember when the family moved back from Pensacola and started attending Trinity Baptist in Asheville. Lynn, Angela and I became good friends. We went to Asheville Christian Academy together and rode the same bus. I loved spending the night at their house. Bro. Runion had family devotions and one night the Scripture was Psalm 23. Even at my young age I was very familiar with that Psalm and had memorized that passage. I didn't understand the 1st verse though. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." I thought it meant the Lord is my shepherd who I don't want. However, I knew it couldn't possibly mean that. Bro. Runion very patiently explained to me that it meant I will have no wants. I will never forget that special experience. Mrs. Runion was always a lot of fun and so very complementary. Thank you for making me feel so welcome at your home.

At last I finally met sweet Hannah after visiting the radio station and we became friends too. What a precious family you are and although our life's paths have taken us down different roads, please know I think of you often and I am praying for all of you during this difficult time. I believe Bro. Runion is rejoicing in Heaven now. May this and all the promises of God's Word give you peace. With my love and deepest condolences...

To the Family of Reverend Runion:
Dr. Runion was one of the finest individuals I ever knew, whose focus was clearly the sharing of the Gospel and the encouragement of this in all our lives. Wendell was very supportive of my efforts to serve, before I ever entered the Legislature, when I got there, and after I left, in my several attempts to get back. He was a wonderful pastor, evangelist and leader and visionary! This community will miss him greatly.
And for all of you in his family, may GOD's peace, which passes all understanding, be with you in this time of separation, until you are all reunited with him. GOD bless!!!!

I'm Ernest Fore's first grandchild. I came down to North Carolina a couple of times. I would jump to stay with his brother's and sister's. I mostly stayed with Aunt Zora and Uncle Kenneth. I went and stayed at the Timothy House that cousin Wendell started. I would clean the church, study the Bible and to church. Then after church we would always go out to eat. Wendell always introduce me to his friends as "This is my cousin and he's a yankee". LOL.. I remember going to church rivals with him. I loved him and cherished him.

Tony Maynor contributed this message on Tuesday, April 10, 2018:

Well Brother Runion, you finally made it! The Heaven you preached about for so many years is now your eternal residence. Congratulations!! I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with you directly for 12 years at WKJV Radio in management and indirectly for the remaining 13 years on special projects. The great memories down thru the years fill my mind. . Shareathon, the NC Mountain State Fair Gospel Expo Tent, We Still Pray, Worldwide Internet Radio, 25,000 Watts, the Congressional Prayer Breakfasts, the Family Value rallies and marches, the Live broadcasts of Prayertime and all the days of sitting in the office when a need at the station arose and hearing you say, Bro. Tony, God will provide our need.

I appreciate the stand you took on the AV 1611 King James Bible and for never compromising with the new modern form of contemporary worship which has swept thru a lot of the churches in our country.

Im grateful for all the times you took hold of the horns of the altar, stood up like a bull dog and said No, we will not condone the sin of todays society. But instead you said, Just preach to them about Jesus and sing about the old rugged cross.

For all the times weary pastors, evangelists and preachers walked into your office and their hearts were burdened, they would always leave with a greater desire than ever to push forward for God because of the Biblical council and encouragement you gave them. Heaven is now revealing the many souls that were saved as a result of the ministries of WKJV/WKJW and IBOM. Eternity will shed light on the future results. Even though God has called you home, the spirit of fundamentalism and strong character will continue in the hearts of radio listeners and especially all the young preacher boys you instructed and exhorted in Bible college. In just a few days, the new FM frequency will be spreading the Gospel on radio throughout Western North Carolina as a result of your hard work and obedience to the call of God. To God be all glory, great things He hath done and will continue to do.

Well miss you, but well see you again in a few days, Brother Runion. We all love you.
