Donna, I am so sorry to learn of your Mothers passing. I know the feelings and emptiness you have, Mom passed last year. Your Mother and Mom (Mildred Anders) were great friends at Battery Park. I know how much you loved and the care you took of her, we passed each other all the time running to our Mom's apartments. Mom & Mrs Cathey were telling each other one day how great their daughters were and how much they loved us. So knowing they are in God's hands now with no more pain, helps the emptiness. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, God bless you.

Your family touched my heart and my life many years ago when you( The Cathey Trio) came to East Fork Baptist homecoming to sing. I remember you guys sang "Going Home " and now she has gone home !! What a beautiful thought. I've gotten to know Florence over the years and she was always so sweet and such a joy to talk with. She loved her family very much. I will miss her too.

Michael, I wrote this poem a few days ago and I want to share it with you. Your mom has only Gone from Our Sight. We will see her again one day. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her smile was her testimony. I know your pain as I have been in your shoes before, but I also know your peace as you can know without a single doubt where your sainted mother is today. We Love you and your family. Wil and Donna Redmon This is not my End. Don’t weep for me my family and friends For what you see lying here is not my end. Yes I’ve finished this journey down here below And I’ve been carried by Jesus to my new heavenly home. Shake the pain from your heart wipe the tears from your eyes And try to imagine me in the sweet bye and bye. No more pain, no more death, no more grief, nor despair I am free from all my heartaches, worries, and my cares. Just imagine me in Heaven where my new life begins Singing and Shouting from the minute I entered in. Yes I’ll admit that I am going to miss you, But I take comfort in knowing that soon you’ll be here too. And I’ll be watching each day as the new saints arrive To see if it’s you the Angels bring thru the sky. I ask one last thing of you my family and friends Don’t weep for me because this is not my end. Donna Redmon 7/12/2010

Dear Jonnie, and Donna,I was saddened when I just read about your mothers passing. The Cathey family was such a big part of our lives, at Sunrise. Sandra and I have very fond memories of being at your house. Us, James and Bruce, Cynthia, Teresa. Your Mother and dad always opened their arms, and hearts to who ever entered their home. The Cathey Family singing. I could go on and on of memories. Life is never the same when both parents are gone, but we have the reassurance of a homecoming one day. May God Be with each of you during this time. Linda and Sandra

Jonnie, Donna & Mike, The passing of your precious mother is bitter-sweet.It hurts when our loved ones leave us, but what rejoicing there is in heaven. I can just imagine Ms. Florence and Preacher Cathey hand in hand shouting together as they so often did on earth. What a joy, having served the Lord with them. I often think of the great services we had at Friendship Baptist. Jr. and Florence were a great part of our lives. Jr. married David and me, March 10, 1961 and dedicated our sons Mike and Jimmy when each of them was 2 weeks old. I watched you children grow into fine adults and I loved to hear the family sing. Just know your mother was a "special lady", beautiful outside as well as inside. I look forward to the time we will be reunited in heaven. My love and prayer always, Joan
